Awkwafina

American actor and musician Awkwafina began her career with hilarious rap tracks that tackled sexuality and racial identities with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before increasing her presence in Hollywood. She was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens her first encounter with the world of music was through trumpet. After a classical and jazz education her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. In college, she concentrated on her studies, and then majored both in women's study and journalism. For a brief period during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until after she graduated. After gaining viral fame via the Internet, her track My Vag was a reaction to Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually made its way onto the debut album Yellow Ranger. Other viral hits included the Queef track and the eye-catching NYC Bitchecity tour. The latter track connected directly into another venture Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers after having completed her two previous endeavors, author and musician. Alongside early TV shows such as Girl Code and Tawk she was also in films such as Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered many notable roles that were a breakthrough, like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released In Fina We Trust.
